Who is bored of hearing that water is good for you?
I realised whilst my other half and I were in the car a few days ago, that I am bored of saying it, too often, to ALL my family. Especially when rolling eyes are the reply!
I use to hate drinking water, I struggled to drink water, it made me feel like I wanted to gag.
Now I can’t get enough. What changed? my mindset, that’s all.
I decided I had had enough of feeling rubbish and always thinking about what I SHOULD and COULD do for my health and particularly my weight but not doing much about it. I went on yoyo diets but that was setting myself up for a fall. I never did anything that could slot into my lifestyle in small easy steps that would mean they would be permanent habit changes and a life long journey of feeling better and being happy with my body. Until now. When I trained as a health coach I had to do the course I would be teaching and the first part of that involved drinking water. It was awful, why, why, why? I felt like I was torturing myself. I had to understand why I had chosen to do something that caused me this distress…
It was my choice and the negatives were short term. If I wanted more from my health I needed to overcome a short term discomfort, that actually only took a couple of days to get over, which in the big picture really is not a big deal. A few days getting use to something I am not keen on for a life time of better health. When put like that, how could I not get on with drinking water. There is a lot worse things in life. If I had to advise someone of just ONE thing to help improve their health. I would say, to drink the right amount of water for their body.
So, why bother in the first place, is water really that beneficial to our bodies?

Start small by adding just one extra glass of water into your day. A great time to have water is first thing in the morning before you eating anything. May be add some fruit, lemons, limes, apple or mint to add flavour. Even a splash of squash if you are a full on water hater. Every couple of days add another glass of water until eventually you are drinking between 1 and 2 litres of water a day. The difference in your body and how you feel will be amazing. Give it a try and good luck!
